The Last Chance is an old copper mine down in the Grand Canyon. It's one of several mines that used to operate in the canyon, but most are places I don't really want to go (asbestos mines, uranium mines, guano mines, etc), plus the trail the miners used to get there is still intact so accessing it isn't all that difficult. I've been a couple of times now, but I just did a short piece because I've only scratched the surface and plan on returning for more in the weeks ahead:

That is really cool! I just got back from a vacation to Colorado, and I wanted to explore some of the mines in the area, but they were in very inaccessible areas (4WD needed, which I didn't have). You've got some brass balls. I've heard people die all the time exploring abandoned mines.
You know you wanna look:

Re: Sertile
I'd never go cave diving, but I'd join the army if I had a good enough reason, like if Hitler came back to life or something.
BTW, I added another update about a couple of sites in MA, but I didn't feel like cluttering the board with another new post. It's not quite as death-defying, but you might find it interesting from a historical standpoint.
