Piggyland?

Post by gimpface »

Read the News Leader article about the acid tunnel again the other day, and now I'm wondering what they are talking about when they refer to "Piggyland". The paper states that it's a "catacombs" that runs under I-44. I can't help but to wonder if they're talking about the tunnels near Doling Park. The article does not make it sound like the writer has been there, and although I would hardly consider the Doling tunnels to be a "catacomb", somebody who has not been there and has heard that it's composed of about six tunnels (counting the far-side ones) might. Besides that, it seems like they aren't as unknown as the acid tunnel.

Having done a forum search, I see that there was some initial confusion regarding if the acid tunnel was actually this piggyland place. Has anything else been learned since then?

Piggyland?

As far as I can tell, the Acid Tunnel on the site is the one, true Acid Tunnel.

As for Piggyland, I'm not sure if I ever did find out where it was actually located. If I did, I honestly don't remember. I'd like to know, though.

That's the question. I would presume it's just another tunnel under I-44, but this is the first I've heard of it.

I'm not even sure where the acid tunnel is. Of course I've never really looked for it either. I know its gotta be a tunnel under 44 or 65

I was once told that piggyland was a group of tunnels that met under where two major highways met just east of springfield.... but never been and can't find the guy who told me.

Well it could be 44 and 65 or 65 and James River. If it were one or the other I would say 44 and 65.

I have been to both of those, and there really isn't any series of tunnels. maybe a tunnel or two each.

Is it just me, or does "Piggy Land" sound like an amusement park? Lots of Ms. Piggy perhaps? Or an amuesment park just for cops?
