Carthage Cave

Post by monkeyman »

Does anyone have any information on the Cave under Carthage Missouri. I have a big file that I have compiled on the cave based on newspaper articles that date from 1890's to 1970's.
Apparently there is a huge cave under Carthage, however it has been sealed up over the years. There are some rumers of openings that still exist.
This cave would be the ultimate adventure. Supposidly it hasn't really been explored since around the time it was originally discovered in the late 1800's.
Any information on this cave would be greatly appreaciated!!!

I don't know if I'd call it the ultimate adventure. To me that would be finding Atlantis or going to the moon. However, forum member Druakara (who rarely ever posts) lives in the Carthage area and seems to know a lot about this cave. You might want to try PM'ing him if you're interested, but don't expect a speedy response.
