Doling cave Weekly tours???????

Post by dawgchain »

The kearney street sign says
"Cave tours sundays 1:30 and 4:30"

there are a few of you who know the guy incharge there, is this going to be a weekly event? Because as some of you may reember, Diaper of Doom kept me outside on the last tours, and I would really like to go...I have lived here all my life and have never been inside.

It appeared that it is going to be a regular thing for awhile. We went last sunday and it was fun. Went by accident though, my husbands cousin and his wife were here from KC and we were just walking them down there to show them Doling park as we live a few blocks away. Neat cave tour though, as my 3 year old had fun. Bit TOO detailed of an explanation though....$2 a person or $5 a group

That's cool for those who haven't been yet. I always found Doling Cave tantalizing, until I went a couple of times. Now it just seems kind of lame. There's really no reason why it shouldn't be permanently open to the public like the caves at Ritter Springs.

I can see opening it with one caveat, and the would be that it is locked at night. Frickin' vandals, I'm telling you. Actually, daytime wouldn't be so good either without someone there to watch who goes in.

Well, I've heard that it's not awesome, but I've never even been to Doling Park so I am interested in checking it out. :)

Doling is ok...at least the parts I've seen. Sequiota Springs was better though, because you can do it in the boat, son!

Are you allowed to go into the Sequiota cave in a boat? That would be awesome.

Actually, I'm not sure it's technically "allowed" as such. But I, and several other people on here, have traipsed across the park in broad daylight carrying various aquatic transport forms. No one said anything. It was pretty cool, too.

If it wasn't allowed, it would have been posted.
