That's part of a sinkhole system that has plagued the neighborhood that was taken out at Furgison Street 15 years ago because of the 1993 floods.

There's the one big sinkhole behind Wal-Mart, which is fairly deep but doesn't really go anywhere, and a cave near the Campbell 16 theater across the street, which doesn't go very far either. There's also a "sinkhole area" nearby, in amongst a lot of houses, which is basically a place set aside for flooding, with concrete tunnels of different shapes and sizes. It's all somewhat interesting.

Sertile's right about there being a sinkhole behind Wal-Mart; I had to help haul White Rabbit's ass out of it!

I think the drain that's away from the skater area actually goes under the Wal-Mart and Gordmans parking lots. We had to do the usual crouch-walking, but it didn't really get smaller until a ways into it and we decided to stop. We couldn't leave without yelling things through the gates and scaring Wal-Mart shoppers though, hehe.

Attention Wal-Mart shoppers! There's a red-light special on the corner!
