RE: Mid-America Storage
This was a complex of brick warehouses and manufacturing buildings, all pushed together and sharing walls. Built around 1900. Some of the wooden posts were 20 feet high and 16" on each side --- a single, solid piece of wood!
It was pretty well stripped inside, except for the warehouse fourth floor, which was packed with scrapped machinery and recycling stuff. That floor was well-secured when Gringo and I went last year. We had to climb through the elevator shaft to reach it. Pretty exciting.

Re: Mid-America Storage
You're probably talking about Super Flea in the old Montgomery Ward building - 6200 St. John Ave - not too far north of Independence Avenue. It's still there.
Re: Mid-America Storage
Thanks, I enjoyed going there.
