Water Intake Towers at Chain of Rocks
Water Intake Towers at Chain of Rocks
I’ve always been interested in these two structures. This evening I was hoping to view them on Google Earth, and I noticed that the smaller of the two — the one closest to the MO shore to the south— only appears as a vague, sort of boat-shaped blob in the water. Has it been demolished or destroyed?
Slipping the surly bonds of earth...

It was still there on 28 April so unless they destroyed it within the last two weeks, it's still there.

No, Google Maps/Earth pictures are often distorted.

There’s a fascinating Post Dispatch article on this which I’m not entirely sure I should post here so I’m asking if anyone even wants to see? If so I can’t be blamed. You know since it shows the construction of the tunnel and all lol.

Weird that this got bumped. Took this a month or two ago and posted in the photo-a-day thread. So yeah, it's still there.
