Great Doc on STL’s Manhattan Project Involvement

Post by Whitepanther »

I was recently sent this documentary link by a coworker who worked at the Weldon Spring cleanup project. Thought some others might find it as interesting as I did.

One of the more interesting parts of the story is how/why STL became ground zero for inventing the uranium enrichment process, but honestly they tell that story better than I could so I’ll just leave it there.

In case the link doesn’t work it can be found on YT and is called “The Tragedy of Early Nuclear Plant Workers | The Safe Side of the Fence Documentary”.

Also interesting…Missouri Research Park in Weldon Spring at the eastern side of Hwy 94 and the southern side of Hwy 40 was nearly selected as the HQ of the newly established United Nations after the end of WW2.

Excellent, eerie documentary. I have biked right over the most hazardous spots on the trail/in the woods before... :?
Preservation over plunder.
