An occupational therapist helps patients fly a kite on the lawn in front of the St. Louis Children's Hospital, ca. 1924. The Hospital established an Occupational Therapy division in 1919. According to the 1919 Annual Report: "The happy, contented child is more receptive to treatment than the fretting, discontented one, and in case of long periods of enforced rest in bed, as well as in the shorter, more acute cases, the provision of some form of directed activity for the hands and mind is essential."
I actually when out to this site first before researching, which is rare. It was a little too busy for me to park and look around, so I decided to return another day, Looking at google earth there seems to be nothing left really, even though i heard rumors of the foundation remains.

anyone have any info to add?
