Frisco High Line Trail ride

Post by BROUSER »

When: Saturday, June 7th 0900-0930.
Where: Trail Head in Springfield.
One way, should be about a 3-5 hour ride, depending on what kind of cool stuff we find to goof off checking out on the way. Working with Sertile on how we are shuttling back. PM me with your cell and I'll PM you with mine to coordinate.

Rumor has it Kit will be giving us a topless send off.

I believe that had to be canceled due to the number of accidents it would cause, from bikers, passing cars, and pedestrians alike.
More online investigation than onsite exploration these days.

I guess I could remember how to ride a bike for that. :D As great as this sounds, I couldn't look. Kit is my friend and I couldn't take advantage. :(
What's the point of making a point if the point you are trying to make is pointless? Do you get my point?

Updated plan: I will drive to Bolivar with my pick-up, meet Sertile at the trailhead at about 0830, throw my bike in Sertile's pick up, then we'll come back down to Springfield trailhead and meet anyone else that wants to go at approximately 0930ish. I have it as me, Willard, Sertile, and Arlo. I can get a couple more in my truck if any takers. Someone could use my wife's bike if they were bikeless. It's like mine, but fitted for someone 5'4" rather than 6'0". Seat could be raised. Bring your own water and fuel.

Man, I'm so ready for this weekend. Hopefully it won't be a scorcher.

I'll bring a couple of extra inner-tubes for 26" rims incase anybody gets a puncture, along with equip. needed to mend flats or make any adjustments.

I'm ready too. It's not the heat, it's the humidity. Bring lots of water.

I'm bringing a one gallon camel back... from the look of the trail info, there are a few places where we can refill our bottles.

Not to cross threads, but what's the story with the float trip?

Not really "crossing the streams" but crossing threads made me think of this classic bit.

Minus the action figures part, I also thought of that scene.

Called off. Supposed to storm tonite. We were considering camping tonight at Steel Creek and floating the Buffalo Friday, but wifey had to much work on her desk to take off Friday. It's just kind of scary stormy right now to consider floating with the kids. Just me and the wife, I'm not so worried.

I read "called off" and thought you meant the bike ride... shooo, close one.

Yeah, taking kids canoeing on class two-three rapids isn't the definition of fun. It can really scar them for a few years. Not to mention the pissed off wife factor which in some cases can be worse than the kids.
