KCUrbex 2012 Super Spring Jam Cave Campout Shindy

It's that time of the year again.

Date: Friday, March 30,2012 - Sunday, April 1, 2012
Place: The Cave (message me for info)

You guys know the drill for the most part. Let's make this one huge! As usual, we are extending the open invite to you folks from out of town. There were 10 different states represented at the spring campout last year, we can top that!

** EVERYONE BRINGS FIREWOOD, PLEASE. **

Shenanigans:
Friday 03/30 - I'll be there at 8 pm to set up camp, get the fire going, and start my alcohol binge. Most folks, if they come tonight, roll in around 10 or 11.

Saturday 03/31 - Weather permitting, heading out around 10-12 to visit some of KC's sites. Later in the evening is the big party. Usually in full swing around 11 pm. There is no time in the cave, and no bed time either. Some people just come down to party. All the cool people camp out, at the campout.

Sunday 04/01 - Hangovers, darkness, strange recollections. Try not to be the last one out.

What To Bring:
Headlamp with extra batteries
Flashlight(s) with extra batteries
Camping or folding chair.
Sleeping bag
Inflatable matress pad
Tent (if you want extra warmth)
Extra layers or pairs of pants / socks etc just in case you're wet or cold
Food to cook or there's some KILLER BBQ right next door.
Bottled water
Paper towels
Trash bags
Fireworks (roman candles, fountains, saturn missiles artillery shells, nothing too loud)
Candles (tealights are cheap and add a couch of class)
Whatever you want to drink or smoke, is welcome.

Ground Rules
Respect the environment
Don't break glass
Pick up after yourself
No drama or disrespectful people
Feel free to build your own fire at your own campsite, just bring your own wood and lighter fluid.

Yeah no way on that. I was asking about alternate parking arrangements and they will not be in the same place this time.

I'm still not sure if I'm going but if you guys are interested then sign me up too.

Yes folks this really is happening and it looks to be our biggest and best yet. There were some issues with parking and vandalism at the spring campout last year and I still feel terrible for those 4 or 5 people whose windows were broken. Thankfully nothing was stolen. There have been 2 successful campouts since then with nothing out of the ordinary happening.

We DO have different parking arrangements worked out with the owners of nearby establishments and there have also been significant construction changes that have affected the road layout down there. I'm just waiting on satellite imagery to update before we can cut an accurate map out and show people who are unfamiliar with the area where to park, where to go, etc.

The date has already been set. We're encouraging out of towners to come join us. We're also asking for anyone of the artistic realms to join us and bring some form of entertainment, or something that would allow for awesome photography. The fire dancers at the last spring campout were AWESOME and I would love to see that again. We're kind of starting to treat this like our own miniature underground Burning Man.

There will, of course, be lots and lots of fire, fireworks, and more fire. Let's party! Please RSVP on UER (if you have one) or post on our local kcurbex.org so we can keep an accurate headcount. See you all in about 2 months!

It was the biggest campout yet. We swarmed all over this city exploring. Hopefully some of you guys can come up for the next one!

Looks like a lot of fun. We were planning on going to this one, but didnt work out. Hope to attend the next one.
