Some locations not mentioned

Post by Allanon »

Great site, I found your forum while searching through the webhost help forum.

I live in JC and have been exploring through parts of the surrounding towns, but not in quite awhile, probably been atleast 10+ years.

So, I wanted to put this out there. There is an fairly long abandoned train tunnel in Eugene, MO which is about midway between Lake of the Ozarks & JC. I can't remember exactly how to get there but it is fairly close to the main road. Take the Eugene exit off Hwy 54W, take a left. It is about 1 or 2 streets down on the right. There is very limited parking at entrance to a field. walk straight through that field, you should come to some tracks follow these to the left about 1/2 mile. If you go during the day, the exit to the tunnel is right below the roadway, but I have no idea which road.

Heard of a Train Tunnel in Freeburg, MO but have never been to that one.

I noticed someone posted the Tunnel in Rochport, MO I went through there before the Katy Trail did, but if you park close to it, then walk towards the I-70 bridge (Left) on the Katy Trail about 1mile or so, you will come to a park bench. Right behind that park bench is an entrance to a cave, very small entrance, but it opens up. There is also a "Open to the Public" cave close by.

The rest of my exploration activities were rummaging through old abandoned houses. Throughout the surrounding area.

Welcome and thanks for the info!

Do you happen to know how big that cave is? Is it worth making a day of it to check it out?
