RE: Facts on Dogpatch being SOLD

Post by Willard »

I guess I need to make myself clear. Being the history buff that I am I take in a lot fo information about items, ways of life, events, and other such things that happend years.. decades... even centuries ago. White Rabbit met me the other day. I wear suits alot and generally I guess I'm the one from an entirely different world. Anytime I meet someone who doesn't remember when say Back to the Future (part 1) came out in 1985 or someone who doesn't remember the old 80's music videos when they were first shown on MTV, or someone who doesn't remember that MTV used to show nothing but music videos nonstop... or a host of other things that I clearly remember... it just makes me feel old... I guess I shouldn't but I can't help it... I know things change and the world changes, but there's something about a history buff that I guess I've just gotten more into an obsession then anything else. Sorry if I belittled anyone in my earlier posts. I didn't really mean to make age an issue.

I know what you're saying with this. While I'm really only eighteen...all of my friends are the people you're talking about. I mean, I was only born in 1987 but for whatever reason I feel like I have to explain things to certain people my age because they just simply aren't aware of anything that hasn't happened in the last ten years.

On a side note...Does Wings, Roseanne, and Fresh Prince on Nick at Nite freak anyone else out? I use to watch Taxi and Mary Tyler Moore for christ's sake.

I always watched that on TBS in the mornings if I stayed home from school. I had a crush on Elizabeth Montgomery when I was younger.

How about when they used to show reruns of Laughin or the first 5 years of SNL on Nick at Nite? That was around '87. Of course I also remember when Nickalodan used to show the old Lassie, Dennis the Mennis, a show called Today's Special (a manican came to life when someone put his tweed hat on him), Pinwheels... I could go on... I remember when there were more then one wrestling group that was on TV. USA network had one, TNT (now Spike) had one, and then there was one that was on Network television. I'll stop going on about TV...

All truly sophisticated people know that the Dukes of Hazzard was the greatest show ever.

Then you will also agree that the set for the new movie needs to be burned down as soon as possible.

Jessica Simpson is worthless, she brings the world nothing. I'm not wasting my time with that piece of poop movie.
