I get a similar feeling after a 6 pack of Guinness, especially if I don't poop for a day or two after it...David Keetz wrote:....i just see bad things happening with a barbecue on that roof.

Is their house on prospect st? I remember that there was a school there awhile ago. it burned when i still lived there...so mid-late 80's. i remember seeing the huge tube thing left-over.GlassCurtain wrote:
Sorry for rambling. I'm sure most of you already knew that but I just heard about it yesterday. My parents just bought a house in Eureka and there used to be a girls dorm in their back yard but it burned down. But there is still the big spiral slide/fire escape left though. My parents are looking more into the history of eureka since they heard that story. Hopefully their house is haunted. I'd sleep there everynight if it was.
also on a side note, there used to be a bowling alley in the basement of the crescent.

Oh yeah, I completely forgot regular ladders were an option.cobcob wrote:I've got a 7' folding aluminum ladder, that enough or do we need an extendable one?
A 7' ladder would make it a lot easier to get to the second and third floors (though it can be done without one), but we'd still need something bigger to get onto the roof. A 10-12'+ aluminum ladder we could lean up against the wall would probably work, though the ladder might have to be propped up over a two-story void. It would probably be safe enough (safer than a rope ladder hooked to a 2" clay pipe), but it wouldn't exactly instill confidence either.

i know right where that is then. right near the corner of howell st, right?
i would have thought by know all remnants would have been trucked off somewhere.

I sled down howell on my ass once. Not one of the smartest things i've ever done.
