Forester Arkansas

Post by arkie 123 »

Has anyone been? It is a true ghost town. Hwy 28 west of 71 Hwy in Scott county. I've not been in years. Not much left but some basements and the mill pond. Forester had the worlds largest sawmill in the 30s but after the trees ran out so did the people. The railroad ran down to the town. I can't find one word about the town anywhere.

3rd County south of Washington (Fayetteville). I looked for it in Google Earth but the resolution of that area sucks. You can see that the whole valley used to be trees and there's a whole strip along the valley where the trees were removed.

Sounds neat. Someone should go get pics.
What's the point of making a point if the point you are trying to make is pointless? Do you get my point?

When I was a younger guy? LOL. The streets where paved. No buildings left but the bank basement still had a cement safe in it. The had their own money down there. School and so on. I'll try and get down there sometime soon. I grew up in Waldron, which is about 30 miles from there. Just a side note but Forester is also the home of really neat huge rock and the supposed home of a big foot thing. I've seen and been to the rock. Have two friends that saw the monster.

yep, i've not seen the big foot but years ago it was seen pretty often. We had our senior party at Forester. 1971. Gee, i'm getting old. The two friends that saw the thing are even older than me. No way would they make up the story. Well, George had his wife with him, so I guess she saw it too. The other guy was parking with the girlfriend at the cemetery. The thing tried to break the back glass out of his car.

You'd be mad too if someone came and cut down all the trees around your home. :D

I refuse to answer that question on the basis that I don't know the answer.
