Cave system under Harrison?
RE: Cave system under Harrison?
No- it was definitly a tunnel, I don't know how far it went, but it went out of sight both directions- getting my truck out of this hole and trying not to fall in were our main concerns, then "Cecil" - the old guy put a bunch of old junk on it to keep us and others out.

As far as I know the under-harrison cave's entrance has been concreted closed. I haven't been out to check. S'pose I should but I haven't had much time lately.

Yeah, I'd like to know the house too. Turns out the entrance, or at least what I think is the entrance, isn't concreted shut. Just caved in a little.
Re: RE: Cave system under Harrison?
This is partly true the location of the entrance is true but no lake just a small spring that runs through. The entrance isn't that big but once you go a little ways back it opens quite a bit and is a pretty large cave I didn't get to explore much of itLadyDragonsblood wrote:I haven't been on this site in quite a while..but being as I lived in Harrison all my life....yes I do something about this topic...
There IS a vast cave system under Harrison. One of the more famous parts is Major's Cave. The only way to get to the entrance is walking up the creek bank from the Babtist Church low water bridge. (going west like you were walking down Hwy. 7 So.)....it's not too far from the low water bridge.
There is an underground lake there....or so I have been told...I have never been in it, but my exhubby was once...it is not reccomened though that you go in there alone.
I know there are active caving groups in the Harrison area...just ask at the Chamber of Commerce.

Re: Cave system under Harrison?
I know what entrance youre talking about behind first baptist church.
I have heard it has caved in or stuffed full of gravel(by the city workers).
But I heard there is another entrance by what is now Clay Maxey Ford. Used to be hudspeths motors back in the day if im correct.
Still really interested in finding this cave even if its been years

Well I’ve been at this for years now and no new info has come up. I have now moved to Fayetteville Arkansas instead of Harrison so if anyone wants any info on what I know about the cave system under Harrison I can give you what I gathered
