Trotts's stand/Trott's tavvern.

Post by Jon »

Have any of you heard of this? It's supposed to be in benton county in the very north eastern point of arkansas. I was doing a search for ghost towns and found this site that mentioned it.

TROTT'S STAND
Benton Co.
In the far northwest corner of the state, this former 1840-ish stage station's site is nearly forgotten.
It was also known as Trott's Tavern, Trott's Mill and Brightwater.

If you know anything about it please let me know.

That's new to me, but I also haven't spent much time in northeast Arkansas.

Er... Yeah. I should've noticed Benton county anyway and known.

All the Trott names don't turn up much, but there's a bunch on Google and Yahoo for "Brightwater Arkansas." Plus, Brightwater still shows up on Yahoo maps. It's out by Pea Ridge.
