Re: World
I had actually heard of this well for the first time when I was following up on the tornado damage that Greensburg, KS suffered earlier this year. Luckily, the well wasn't damamged in the storm.
Re: World
Sorry, but that just made me laugh. You mean the tornado didn't damage the hole dug in the ground? Huh. imagine that.slow_walker wrote:I had actually heard of this well for the first time when I was following up on the tornado damage that Greensburg, KS suffered earlier this year. More online investigation than onsite exploration these days.

Thanks for the link, Cuz. If I'm ever in that part of KS, then going to the big well seems like a good excursion.cousin wrote:http://www.bigwell.org/bigwell.html

Re: World
It could have if huge amounts of debris (or a small amount of huge debris) had gotten dropped down the hole. It could have easily damaged or destroyed the metal staircase which leads visitors to the bottom of the well, or perhaps the stonework that lines the sides of the well. It technically is a hole in the ground, but it's not like it's just a dirt hole. It could have been damaged.Nicotti wrote:Sorry, but that just made me laugh. Yes, after all, she majored in parade raining. That's why I always bring my umbrella.
