Ghost Town in South Dakota

Post by Willard »

Hey All! I was with my girlfriend visiting her relatives in South Dakota last summer and I finally got the pictures on my computer. The town is called Okaton and it's just off of Interstate 90. Here's the pictures. Enjoy!

Wow, that's really cool. Made me think of a little town in a Western movie while on the wagon trail or something.

That Post Office looks exactly like the one in a scene from "Flirting with Disaster". Weird.

Roses are red, violets are black... why is your townsite as flat as your back?

Haha. Live in Oklahoma. It's really flat there, and when I moved here I'd feel quesy on all these hills. But, yea I'd miss these ol' hills if I had to move to flat area.

I like travelling through them in the spring. Especially travelling down into Eureka Springs, you have some great stretches of roads down within the hills on the way down there and while you're there as well.

I lived in Oklahoma for the first 6 years of my life. I grew up in the Enid/Hennessy are. Enid is where my Grandmother lives and Hennessy is where all of my dad's land is (was my grandparents before they past on).
