Photobucket down?
Photobucket down?
Is anyone else having trouble connecting to the Photobucket website? I can't from home or work.
More online investigation than onsite exploration these days.

Re: Photobucket down?
My hosted images are still showing, so I don't know what the deal is.

Re: Photobucket down?
Can't reach it either, that site is struggling these days. Flickr will eventually follow suit, especially with all the features Yahoo just eroded-away from the free version.
Preservation over plunder.
RE: Photobucket down?
One time I got a virus on a work computer just by logging into and out of Photobucket. One of their ads was compromised. That was around the time I decided to move my shit elsewhere.
The fact that it works at all anymore is a legitimate miracle.
Photobucket actually shut down literally ALL hosted images like a year or so ago, hoping that people would pay the ridiculous $400 hosting/hostage fee to get their pictures back. I saw an article that jokingly/depressingly accused photobucket of "breaking the internet" by doing so, because so many images were hosted on it.
With flickr starting to clamp down now I don't even know what to recommend to people anymore. I just use my own domain to host my files. Costs like 5 bucks a month and it's 100% mine, no ads, no bullshit.

I know that longevity for any site on the internet is a pipe dream, but it would be nice. And good security/privacy too.SubLunar wrote:With flickr starting to clamp down now I don't even know what to recommend to people anymore. I just use my own domain to host my files.
