This year was one of the craziest of my life. Here are the highlights of my year. I did wayyyy too much. Anyway-
Started off the year with a trip to Colorado. On the way I explored Nicodemus, Kansas. A some what ghost town ( pop 14) that used to be an African American reconstruction town.
In May I made it out Alcove Spring, Kansas. This is the last stop of the Donner party before they hit Ft. Laramie. It also has the grave of the first member to pass (of old age.) Very cool historical stop in KS!
Summer was where things really kicked off, first a few trips to the ozarks.
Klepzig Mill
Meramec Spring
[
Round Spring
Blue Spring
Went to the top of Coot Mountain and checked out the fire tower
(Not pictured - Hodgson Water Mill, Rocky Falls, Alley Spring)
THE HIGHLIGHT OF MY YEAR!!! - WILD HORSES OF SHANNON COUNTY!!!
Stayed at the Shawnee Creek campground in Eminence for a bit, and got to photograph these amazing animals. If you haven't heard about Missouri's wild horses, do some research. Absolutely incredible story that will make you proud to be an Ozarkian!
Went to Colorado to explore some ghost towns in August
Corona - Just building materials remain and rail road tresses. Popped my tire, very rough road. Freaking gorgeous and worth it.
Dearfield - African American ghost town, nearly demolished
(Not pictured - Nevadaville, Russel Gulch,
Guanella Pass (Prettiest drive in USA?) -
In the early Fall, I became obsessed with the Sante Fe trail town of Council Grove, KS.
Kanza Heritage Trail
Chase Falls, KS
In October I finally made it out to the MO classic- Devil's Icebox in CoMo!
In November I took a solo hiking trip to float the 11 pt. Checked out Grand Gulf and Mammoth Spring. Both were eh in comparison to the Ozarks other beauts!
Can't wait to see what this year brings, I've already knocked out quite a bit. Happy trails yall!

Awesome!! Glad you had a crazy year too, and saw so many ghost towns! KS has more of 'em than I'd thought...
I have a hard time trusting animals larger than myself, but am also super proud to live in a state with wild horses Thanks for sharing them!
