The Oldest Calendar Thread
The Oldest Calendar Thread
Post your oldest calendar found still hanging. I've always enjoyed seeing a calendar on the wall, still frozen in time from when the place was last inhabited. It helps give an idea how long the place has been deserted.
I've thought about doing this for a while. Then I came across this one and it blew my mind, so I knew I had to finally make the thread.

Sorry for the shitty image, the light was coming from behind me so standing directly in front of the calendar cast a dark shadow over it. Other shots were too blurry.

Re: The Oldest Calendar Thread
That calendar is older than me. But not by much. Great idea, though.

RE: The Oldest Calendar Thread
Great thread! Unfortunately I think the oldest one I found was like 2007. I don't run into them that often believe it or not. I'll look through my pics and make sure I don't have an older one though.
RE: The Oldest Calendar Thread
This is the other oldest one I've got. This calendar was hanging in Falstaff up until a couple years ago. Falstaff #10 was shut down in November of 1977.

More online investigation than onsite exploration these days.

RE: The Oldest Calendar Thread
I found this today:
I also found a few other things with the years on them.

Definitely cool as well.
I had found a Gibson guitar catalog from the 60s in a place once. There were guitars in there listed for like 100 bucks that are worth thousands today. I'm not even sure if I took a picture of it.

When I first started going to Armour in 2002, there was a 1959 calendar (a little one, like they give away at banks, etc.) inside one of the locker doors.
Re: The Oldest Calendar Thread
When I was rewiring my kitchen, I found wadded up balls of newspaper in the wall from 1930 from the last time it was wired.

May '53, just laying on the ground at Armour.

This one is on the ceiling up in my attic. Too bad there's no way to get it down without destroying it. Pretty much the entire room is covered in those L&M packs and there's also some postcards glued to a section of the wall.
