I have a Surefire too. Bright flashlights but god damn they munch expensive lithium batteries.
I'm looking into getting one of these. This is the most awesome pocket flashlight I have ever seen. Check out the Strion Series LED.

I got you suckers beat!
The flashlight I just got is "battery and bulb free". It's a windup LED with 2 different settings and I've been exploring with it and it's fucking great. Much better than my previous flashlights. It holds a charge for a long time and the windup mechanism is pretty quiet. Plus I got an employee discount since I work at a dealership. I paid $9.00

I've been really impressed with my Dorcy light. Freaking bright and cheap. and well made.

I think I might pick up the 160 lumen one as well.
Here's a list of all their high powered LED flashlights.

I'd like to get that surefire, but I work for peanuts
Re: your new uber sweet gear
Surefire G2 found at Carondelet Coke + $12 230 lumen LED drop-in from DealExtreme = FTMFW!
Also, harbor freight sells a large rechargable flashlight that uses a 6v Halogen bulb. It's a freaking cannon, but it's big and eats bulbs.

Although SubLunar makes himself look like a fool on a daily basis, that flashlight is among the better ones I've seen of that style. I'm sure most of the $9 he paid, though, was just for the damn Harley logo.
RE: your new uber sweet gear
I finally bought me some flashlights that cost more than $5. Now they wont break the first few times I use them. Hopefully. I think the new ones are even brighter too. One day I want to get something like this. 4100 lumens!

Wow that's pretty cool but runtime is only 15 mins. Might be good as a 3rd back up or something.

I'll have to get a picture of my spotlight on here when i get the chance...Bought one of those cheap cyclops 18 mil candlepower lights at academy. Used it for a while like it was and the thing works great but i stripped the HID guts out of an gmc acadia headlight and fitted the bulb in the spotlights housing. The beam on that thing is pretty intense, and i think the battery even lasts longer now.

Ok, I gotta say, any flashlight you can cook your eggs on is worth owning just so you can show off.
Re: your new uber sweet gear
I have been shopping around and I found for the money, that 160 lumen Dorcy is a pretty good deal, and they seem to be good quality. I have a led Coleman 75 lumen with interchangeable lenses. Its compact, very durable and fairly bright in close quarters and buildings. I just need something brighter like the Dorcy for large tunnels and open areas. And as for other gear, I just got a shiny new grappling hook a couple of weeks ago. I was skeptical because of the price ($20), but its some heavy gauge steel, and it feels pretty tough. I've been dying to find an excuse to try it outGlassCurtain wrote:I've been really impressed with my Dorcy light. Freaking bright and cheap. and well made.
