Several months ago a movie called "Larva" was shown on the Scifi channel. It was filmed here in Springfield and I worked on it. If you rent the movie from Blockbuster you'll notice the tunnel at the end of the movie looks alot like the Jordan Creek Tunnel. Back about two years ago when my friend Jake was doing location scouting for the movie he asked me if I knew where any good tunnels were. I told him about the Jordan Creek tunnel. I wonder what tunnel they would have used in the movie if he hadn't taken my advice.

Watch the movie and see if you can't pick out some familiar areas.

Yeah, I heard a variation on that, but what I heard was that most of it was filmed in Joplin. I also heard it was "premiered" at Traffic, but I didn't hear about it until the next day. Either way, I'll definitely keep an eye out for this one. I normally have a policy against Sci-Fi channel movies that don't star either Bruce Campbell of Jeffrey Combs, but I think I can make an exception. Hell, I sat through half of Mansquito.

I know for sure that the Blockbuster on Battlefield (over in the Food-4-Less shopping center) has a DVD copy of Larva for those who live in Springfield.

Awesome! Get ready for some cheesy acting and lots of gore. If only Bruce Campbell were in it.

Most of the film took place in farms around Springfield so probably not. The court house was in a scene.

Lame-ass Movie Gallery in Bolivar doesn't have it. I'll have to go to a Blockbuster some time when I'm in town I guess.

On purpose. Got paid $50 too! One scene was filmed in my church in ozark. The farm scenes were filmed at the farm of one of our members. The hospital scenes were shot in St. John's.

I got to meet Tim Cox (Director), Rachel Hunter (Sports Illustrated fame), William Forsythe, David Selby (Falcon Crest), and Vincent Ventresca (Fun Bob from Friends).
They were there shooting from about 3:00 p.m. until after midnight for a 10-minute sequence. I also got to meet one of the Sci Fi Channel execs, and was interviewed by channel 10.
