Old building near county jail
Old building near county jail
There's an old building that an ex of mine showed me near a county jail/farm close to the stadiums. I didn't go anywher near it but she said she had been in it a few times. Anybody know what I'm talking about?

Its an old tiberculosis hospital. I havent been out that way in a long time but I heard that it was torn down. To bad cause it was really cool to see. The only problem was cops were always patrolling the place.
I went over to the dark side, but just to pick up a few things.

If this is the one I'm thinking of, it is even labled in the topos of the area as a tuberculosis hospital

that's the old Leeds Hospital..
it was torn down a couple of years ago, if you search for leeds hospital on UER, you can find a picture of it...
shame, really cool place, but far too dangerous to keep open..i went in a little while before it was torn down and the place had really gone down, water damage had really made the floors super dangerous

We used to go in there all the time when I was younger. We found paperwork inside made out to a "Municipal Work Farm" but I'd heard the TB hospital story as well. Not sure which is true.
I watched an inmate try and escape one time while I was in one of the upper stories. He got caught up in the fence and the guards were none too gentle about pulling him down.
We found a ton of old cracker tins in the sub basement dating back to the 50's and 60's that were typical staples in fallout shelters stocked by Civil Defense.
I have some old photos from inside. I'll dig them out and get them scanned and posted.

I live over by there and yes it was torn down. I've heard there is basement left but that's it. It IS heavily patrolled and NOT a good idea to go there. However, because of stories of hauntings and what not, it's a popular halloween night spot. Check it out and let us know how much the trespassing ticket costs, maybe it'll be worth it.
If you can read this, roll me back over....

I think they were using that site or very close to it for police choppers at one time.

I wondered if that place had been torn down. The last time I was in there we did get escorted off the property by some of Kansas City's finest.

We were there late in the fall. There are a couple little work house type of buildings and there is a very well secured shed. Also the remnants of what look like kennels of some sort. The old hospital has been torn down though.
I don't know where to start.....
