Jesse James Cave

Post by MarkDunn »

This is a cave in limestone cliff just south of Pamona, Kansas. Supposedly, this is a place where Jesse James and his gang would frequent and camp at. It was reported that the initials JJ were once carved into the walls, but have since disappeared. It was a very cool find. PM me here if you want directions. It is not posted, so you can do a lot of exploring in the area.

Wow! Glad you included that 4th pic, I was thinking the entrance was a lot smaller till I saw that scale pic.
More online investigation than onsite exploration these days.

There is another cave like this that I have been in as well although it was off the side of the rock face and we had to free climb down to it. I went there during high school on a spelunking trip with the best A&P teacher in existence.
