Had I not been occupied this weekend I would have tried warning you sooner to prepare to be disappointed for the lack of underground that exists in STL.. Not much to see..
But above ground, we keep ourselves busy.

To be fair, Stl might have an awesome underground, it's just no one wants to explore it due to smell and possible bad air. I would love to explore the storm sewers, but no one ever wants to go.
And I didn't see this post till today.

More online investigation than onsite exploration these days.

For someone from the Twin Cities seeking underground stuff, STL in comparison would be a huge disappointment.
Re: New from Twin Cities underground
Yeah, yeah, I know, the Twin Cities underground is AMAZING, but considering no one has really explored much on stl's underground and/or posted it online it's kinda hard to quantify what we got here.

I could take pictures of all the ones I've been in here but they'd all look the same. I haven't even bothered taking my camera the past few times. Imagine a round brick hole with varying amounts of shit and tampons floating by.
Here's a video example of one of our expeditions, filmed by Baghead:

Have you been in any of the downtown one's that empty to the river?
Honestly I don't really expect you to find the storm drains interesting, you've mentioned in the past they aren't your 'thing'.
I mean if concrete tunnels and water flowage doesn't interest you, most storm drains are going to be pretty boring.

That video sub posted is of one that empties into the river. And I've always been interested in the underground but it's hard finding good info. I'll be in town Thursday and Friday possibly if anyone wants to check out a two level copper mine near Sullivan. It's a long as hike but should be untouched by people if it's even still accessible

Re: RE: New from Twin Cities underground
The grate at the end that the water is draining into is probably a dedicated sanitary system which carries wastewater flows to a treatment plant. Which is why the EPA got pissed at the MSD cause when it rains hard the sanitary line backs up and all that shit overflows into the river.SubLunar wrote:I could take pictures of all the ones I've been in here but they'd all look the same.
