life happens, and i havent been by this site in a while, i thought id post a link to a short documentary i did for school a while ago about haunted places around springfield. it includes the landers theater, winoka lodge, the alleged albino farm, the walnut street inn, springfield national cemetary, the phelps grove bride, and the joplin spooklight.
its on google videos which requires shockwave, or flash one of the two.

Not bad at all. I've done my fair share of documentaries to tell that you put alot of work and research into that. Most of it I already knew but I learned a few new stories. Thanks. _________________ "I'm federal agent Jack Bauer, and today is the longest day of my life." -Jack Bauer |

Okay, I don't really feel like reading through 7 other pages of this thread at the moment, but I'd really like to take a picture of that bride thing under the bridge at Phelps Grove if someone wants to take me out there sometime and show me where it is. At least, I think it's in Phelps. It's just some rocks or something, isn't it? _________________ Latest Update - Camp Wellfleet, Freshbrook Village: http://undergroundozarks.com/blog/sertile/ |

thanks! i did put alot of work into that. it was my final project for the class. i told WR i was going to send him a copy of it, but i never got around to it. i used a couple pix off the site here, so i gave this place a credit in the end. what sorts of documentaries have you done?
Sertile: I couldnt find a definitive answer as to whether or not the bride appears under the bridge or on the bridge. (but why would a bride be under a bridge in a wedding dress?) some people say that it is discolored rocks below the bridge, other people say that she appears on or near the bridge. also, there are actually like 3 bridges over the creek there right near one another and i wasnt able to find out exactly which one it is sposed to be. also, there are conflicting stories of what actually happened there (car accident etc) and i dont really think there is any real proof (newspapers, etc.) that anything did ever happen. but you should watch my documentary mentioned a couple posts earlier if you havent already and thats got some good info on the phelps grove bride. |

I have heard several stories, she was kidnaped and murdered there, she was found there but never identified, she drowned in high waters by accedent, she jumped in high waters in anguish, she waited there for her lover to come back from war but he died so she did aswell. supposed to be the third bridge from glenstone... _________________ ----------This space for rent---------- |

If anyone's interested, the old Cherry Street Baptist Church is now King's Chapel. It's on east Cherry, east of Bingham School. The new Cherry Street Baptist Church is the old Second Baptist Church on Oak Grove. I've been in the King's Chapel and never had any scary experiences in there...
As an addendum, the large greystone on the north side of Walnut, just east of National (corner of Kickapoo) is very haunted. My daughter is friends with the girl who lives there, and she saw stuff -- figures, objects floating across the room, etc. |
