That's why the combo .410 and .45 Taurus is the perfect home-defense weapon. You pepper someone trying to break in your home in the middle of the night and I gaurentee you they won't be hanging around too long.

Most people wouldn't shoot their .410 pistol while hunting. (Which believe it or not, I know a guy that shoots clay targets with his Taurus)

lol

To contribute: A bigass combat folder that I carry everywhere (along with a multi tool, lighter, and CPR mask), a six cell maglite named "Hobo Basher", and sometimes OC. Most importantly, I am constanly aware of my surroundings, keep an eye out for potential ambushes, and carry myself with a vaguely threatening demeanor. The few times I've run across shifty folks, I politely tell them what I am doing, and make sure they see that I am not one to be trifled with.

Never had any problems.

No, for home defense I have 00BK in my 12 gauge with a 28 inch barrel and full choke. If anyone ever tries to break while Im home I will try scaring them with the pump, but if that does not work then I will go with plan b.

And that thing with the clays is Awesome.

Hmmm... 28" barrel a little long for in the house??
That's why my Mossberg 500 wears an 18.25" barrel when she's inside and the 28" barrel in the field... I've got a pistol grip but it bites the web of the hand with just a bird load so I'm not convinced it'd be too healthy with a few rounds of the 00.

GOD...I LOVE AMERICA!!! LOL

Where else can you post something regarding guns and everyone takes it and runs like crazy with it!!!

If you can't tell...I'm laughing my ass off right now...especially at Cob's comment regarding the firing of a Real shotgun shell out of a flare gun...

Hell a flare gun would be perfect for urban defence...that is if it weren't for the pesky..."Setting everything on fire" issue...

Reconsider using any form of birdshot for defensive purposes.

http://www.theboxotruth.com/docs/bot41.htm

Especially .410 ga.

You'd be much better served with a "conventional" pistol, shotgun, or carbine.

I agree Chris, there are better weapons for killling folks in a defensive situation. But you have to admit that it's a pretty cool gun that'll shoot both Colt .45 rounds as well as bird shot. (for whatever purpose you need it for)

And what sort of criminal/intruder's going to hang around after getting shot five times with any sort of round? Better be one tough S.O.B.

WOW...I checked out that web site and I'm totally bumbed out...I really thought the concept of a 410 pistol was the shit...now I'm just thinking its "SHIT"

Well I guess that decides it....FLARE GUN!!!

or if someone invents a 12gadge pistol...course it would break you wrist the first time you fired it!! lololol

I Know I need another barrel, the good news is that Mossberg 500 barrels are cheap, and I plan on making a stock like a tommy gun (all wood, dual pistol grips and full stock). I know its kind of weird for a shotgun to have a stock like that but I want to try it.

Yeah. Birdshot's for peppering kids trespassing in your cow field.

Er... So, I've heard.

We used to go to a friend on mine's house and have shotgun fights with birdshot at a reasonably safe distance. We almost never broke the skin.
