RE: Sunflower Ammunition Plant

Post by JupiterCries »

Hello, everyone! Im new to the site, but familiar with Sunflower. Sunflower is indeed still inhabited by the feds. Up until about a decade ago the land surrounding the plant was used for the Kansas Boy Scouts Camporee (a competition of different survival skills)

It was then discovered that there was buried waste AND LIVE AMMUNITION buried in the ground in various areas around the plant. It has been hazvat ever since.

Prior to the coding of being a hazardous zone, I have spent atleast 10 days collectively on the land around the plant and have toured the plant once. Again, this was over a decade ago though.

It would be interesting to go back, but I believe your accessment of the govt still being there is true. It's a HUGE cleanup process.

1 or 1.5 story from what I can remember, I dont think we toured much of it, it was one of those things you do for 30mins with your boy scout troop so they can say they put something exciting on the agenda. We were alot more interested in getting in trouble or smartmouthing our leaders at the time lol.

Didn't go inside any of the buildings.

I'm more of a research and history junkie than a UE. This site and the underground cave I mentioned were sites I explored when I was younger, but I dont think UE was a term back then, atleast the internet wasnt popular at that time. It had just started to boom and most kids didnt own their own PC's back then.

I'm willing to do more research on the plant though. Might even take a trip out there to scout for ya all.

I've been plugged into my PC for way too long, prolly do me some good to get out.

I am new and this website is great. As far as the Sunflower plant, I have relatives that used to work there, its huge and really neat, but really dangerous.

I have heard the local cops are watching it now.

Ok, so yeah, some recent events have proved so.

Highly recommend that you DO NOT go there.
