So I went to Armour and met.....

Post by bluephi115 »

John.....yep....we made it through one of the buildings completely for a couple hours. We then started back outside and heading into the building with the smoke stacks and all the cool engines and we were met by a one eyed black man holding two rocks. I knew who it was from the anger he had instantly and all I had read about him. I politely asked who he was and what his name was. We shook hands and he said "John." He escorted us off the property. I asked him about the lady that painted and all that. He said he never had a beard but she hired someone to be with her. He said she understood the process and got his permission to be in there. I asked if we could as well and he said "Now boy, you dont broke procedure and came in here without permission from me. You aint going back in now or never." He then said he really just wants to catch people tearing up stuff and stealing. He ended up being a bit on the crazy side but i could understand and empathize with his frustration.
I WILL be going back!
We then headed to Spivey and had a crazy follow us down the street and down the ally....we then left there!
Next headed to Eagle Cliff Cemetery and two of the trustees were there installing mounted cameras to stop the graffiti. In the next couple weeks they will begin removing the graffiti with a chemical on the mausoleum.
We then headed to Carr School. There were two black guys in a truck outside so I asked them if they ever saw anyone go in the building. They said nope just some stray dogs. They asked if we were going in and I said yeah for photo journalism. He said then I only seen you crazies going in there haha.
Carr School was AMAZING. Loved it!! I will be posting pics of all the places very soon.

Awesome! Mandi & I went over to Washington Park Cemetery. You should check it out, most of it would be great for the natural light photography you like so much.
More online investigation than onsite exploration these days.

Yes we did. I fell on my ass but I'm good!!! Lol! I'm glad I finally met someone from here!

I've taken some pretty crazy pics at night there too. I've gotten mists and orbs if anyone is interested in that. I'm sure someone is...

I managed to lose my hat someplace in the building, probably when i was finagling with it and my headlamp. But I didn't notice till i was in the car leaving. Then I was just like, "Bah. Screw it, it's old. Some vagrant can have it."
I fell on my ass but I'm good!!!
Yes, it was an epic unintentional slide down a door involving a 180 spin, that I wish I had had a video camera rolling on.

I went to Carr a couple years ago, and was harassed by two military-dressed insane bums.

"That's a mothafuckin solid building right there!"

Yeah we were followed around Carr and the guy following us progressively got more agitated. When we made a lap around the building, another guy across the street started yelling insane gibberish at us and it was at that time we decided to leave.

I know john. He is a goofy cat. I work for a Uniform company and he works at the National Stock Yards over there as the guard. Old black guy missing one eye...well he has it but it's all white. A real goofy dude. I used to drive past the old plan every friday to go back to the spear rail place in the back and then head over to John at National Stock Yards. I always wanted to explore that old place.

Interesting.

SubLunar, DR3I, BagHead727, and I were here recently and quickly left when we heard him yelling at us from below. If you see a white pickup truck with a blue hatch, you might not want to be around.
