I deal with bath salts ODs on a very regular basis, and it wouldn't surprise me at all if it turns out that's what this guy's malfunction was. This shit can cause all sorts of bizarre hallucinations, extremely violent behavior, seizures, and puking. Lots and lots of puking. I've seen it smoked, snorted and injected. I wonder what the toxicology report will show, because nobody really knows what sort of chemicals are mixed up with any particular batch.

Maybe so. Maybe not. This is one of the huge issues we have with treating these cases; in addition to the mephedrone, there is no telling what other random toxins/drugs/whatever are present. That's why I'm curious... I wonder if there wasn't some PCP involved also, what with the guy continuing to chow down after being shot.

Exactly the reason all this talk about bath salts is bothering me. It has not been confirmed. Toxicology results are not in. "Reputable" news agencies are spreading it like it's fact. |

What will happen now is lots of people that did not know about bath salts before will try them now that they are talking about it so much. They will go nuts and we will just hear more and more about it.

And I am simply reminding everyone that this has NOT been verified. We don't have the toxicology results. So they're ALREADY reporting this carelessly. Now bath salts are a household term and people are looking them up and learning about them. Some people are probably going to try them now. And this hasn't even been verified yet. See the article above your last post.
That's my whole point. Why bring it up if it's not even verified? Why write headlines that are misleading just to make a story? |

Even if he WAS using bath salts, my point still stands and I am still correct in saying that they are wrong for spreading speculation as fact before we even know for sure.
