RE: Any ideas?
That would indeed be the definition of a doomsday survival shelter. Boiling hot chicks, nude and oiled, and some lube. Survival situation resolved.

RE: Any ideas?
Definitely looks like a silica sandstone mine. Probably disused for mining (unless there's another entrance), since they can't get equipment in those little doors.
We have a sand mine here that looks just like that. It was turned into a haunted house and then re-abandoned. They installed a door and backfilled one entrance, then walled up the other entrance and put in a garage door.
I've seen some geology maps showing literally hundreds of silica mines around the Cape Girardeau area. I'm kinda interested in visiting again, I've been down there before and poked around a few.

Yeah, I'll just chime in and join the consensus that those are mine entrances with a (cinderblock?) entranceway that's been backfilled around.
I've never seen one done exactly that way before, but that's what it looks like.
I have a suspicion they don't go back very far because of that, but I could definitely be wrong.

Looks like something off of Star Wars: A New Hope.
