RE: Mt. Washington cemetery
I've heard a couple haunt stories surrounding Mt. Wash.
Supposedly, it was a site that was used by a satanic cult and someone was murdered by this cult in the cemetery. Atleast thats what a couple locals told me that live in Sugar Creek down the road from it.

So we follow the ghosts to the cave entrance? Maybe they'd be interested in joining Underground Ozarks? I bet they know some great new UE places.
If you can read this, roll me back over....

There are some famous gravesites in Mt. Wash. as well.
KCPT Article on it:
http://www.kcpt.org/stories/gravesites.shtml
I did some further research to find out more about the people listed there.
Jim Bridger- Mountain Man

Louis Curtiss- KC Architect

William Rockhill Nelson- Founder of Kansas City Star (this article covers some really cool KC history too)
http://www.kcstar.com/aboutstar/history/date.htm
Dr. Katharine Richardson- Found of Children's Mercy

Thought someone might be interested in a blip of history on a site you've been exploring.

RE: Mt. Washington cemetery
bumping for an update, please?
also, i'm not that old, but the one story i remember from over around there was that on halloween, around 20 years ago, people dug up a body at the Liberty Cemetery, which is across the road from Mt. Washington. They draped the body over the fence. I don't know if anyone remembers this, but I'd bet a lot of the current scare stories may have started w/ that.
bp
also, speaking of famous people, Charlie "Bird" Parker is buried in Liberty Cemetery.
