Any veterans up for some cave cartography?
Time does not heal all wounds and distance makes the heart grow bitter.
RE: Any veterans up for some cave cartography?
how soon were you wantin to do that?

The may sound a little silly, I watch too many movies, but that new movie The Cave had some interesting technology, namely what looked like sonar cave mapping. It would probably be WAY over the budget of most people, but a cool toy nonetheless. So, ever heard of anything like that? It would make mapping almost too easy
If you can read this, roll me back over....

I had hoped to obtain an ultrasonic tape measurer to get accurate width of the corridors and length and heighth... but nothing like giving a ping out and having it show up on a screen heheKC77CJ7 wrote:The may sound a little silly, I watch too many movies, but that new movie The Cave had some interesting technology, namely what looked like sonar cave mapping. Most likely it's been mapped by organized cavers and you can get a copy of the map from DNR if it's in Missouri. I don't have the address handy but it's in Rolla.
They charge a few bucks for shipping and copying.

Quite simply, with a little bit of measuring and a transit(survey tool) we could map it quite easily
I don't know where to start.....
