Hello fellow explorers. Although I am new to this forum I am not new to exploring the underground of Arkansas. I thought I would begin my introduction by sharing some pics of a massive limestone mine system I found in Cushman Arkansas many years ago. I found this place by scanning over satellite images on Google Earth. This mine also has an interesting cave in it's floor but repelling gear would be required to explore it at any depth. With all the talk about blowing cave I figure some of you might have discovered this mine.
I will share coordinates with people who share back.

Welcome! Excellent first post!
More online investigation than onsite exploration these days.

Isn't this place now a deep freeze facility? If someone can confirm that you can still get in there, I'd love to trade coords.

Hello Dakk
I have visited the mines twice, and the last time I was there was ten years ago and nothing was being done with the site. Recent sat images from Google earth should show evidence of activity on the grounds close to the entrances but I haven't seen anything that would show new activity.

Great post. Thanks for sharing
These kinds of mines always make for good eye candy on here.

Re: Cushman limestone mines
I've searched for a while using google maps and geo surveys but haven't had any luck, which is probably just because I am a greenhorn when it comes to this. Any hints as to the entrance for a beginner?

USGS MRDS can be helpful...download a .KMZ file with all underground mines in a given state and it will overlay them in Google Earth.
