Valeda, KS
Saturday's journey led us to the ghost town of Valeda, KS (about 15 miles east of Coffeyville on US-166). There is an old abandoned school that you can see from the highway and a number of homes still in the community. As we drove up to the school, we wanted to explore, but looked around and there were too many people out & about for comfort. So we snapped a few pics & left.

I've passed this several times and always wondered what it was and wanted to check it out. Thanks for the info. And yeah I don't blame you for not going in there's a house right next to it too right?

Yeah, there's a house right next to it. It looked like someone was home too. I am not the daring type LOL!!

There is also a small church, and antother brick building that looks as if it were a store , or something like that. I have no clue about the history of the hamlet.
