That's pretty freaking awesome. There's a gigantic railroad bridge in Arkansas that's pretty cool, but it's totally different in style than that and goes over water. I wish we did have stuff like that around here.

White Rabbit, are you referring to the old rail bridge over the Arkansas River? They are supposed to be renovating it as part of the Library / River Market / Alltel Arena plan to revive the downtown. PM me if anyone knows how the bridge renovation is going.

The new highway bill that was just passed includes funding to convert this bridge over to a ped bridge. The plans include two elevators (they're not going to lower the raised lift section.)

We have a huge bridge like that here in KC built in 1929. Didn't think to look at it much, I wouldn't have expected laders and walkways. I'll check it out tomorrow.
2 + 2 = 5 for extremely large values of 2

The bridge over Blue Parkway?

There's another bridge like that to the south.
