He said when he was younger this area was slightly raised above flat, now the area is sunken and some of the area actually has open holes. Our place of interest was free of snow with temperatures on contact as hot as 80 degrees while the surrounding area was in the mid 20s. You can move some of the lager rocks and feel hot air flowing from the cracks.
