It appears to be an abandoned multiple span truss bridge over the Arkansas River. Does anybody know if it's still there? I'm going to be driving through the area in a couple of days, and if it's light when I leave I might check it out.

I've never been there nor ever heard of it but it looks cool. That would be a badass spot for some automotive photography though on an abandonded bridge. Let us know what you find. I'm interested.

I drove through Tuesday and the bridge is there, but closed to traffic. It is a huge bridge, with 9 through truss spans.

theres a bridge similar to that in Newcastle, OK (south of OKC) and along I-44, stopped and took a few pics when i was in the area but didnt cross it, its a very long bridge and it looked to be mostly wood that id have to walk across, which was rotting.

The bridge near Newcastle is the old US 62-277 bridge:

There is a good view of this bridge on Street View of Google Maps. Click on the link in the first post in this thread, and click on the middle of the current bridge and you can easily see the bridge to the south. The bridge is ginormous. Rumor is there is also a small pony truss span in the area as well but I didn't find it when I was in Haskell.

Yes, that site has been a favorite of mine for several years now. The bridge in question is now featured on that site, but when I originally made the post it wasn't on there. Here's the direct link:zombi86 wrote:Here is a website featuring the bridges of Oklahoma by county.
