Nazi Sub U-505

Yeah it was a paid tour, but it still falls under "exploring something awesome" so fuck off.

Thanks.

It wasn't too bad, they did modify a couple things to have more room. To make an accessible entrance, they cut a hole in the side of the sub and removed one of the rows of bunks as a result. Also, some of the doorways were cut out, flush with the floor so you don't have to step through.

Prison

For exteriors, see the photo-a-day thread. I had to promise not to post any exteriors on my blog..

Why couldn't you post exterior shots on your blog?

It's a famous prison and the guy that gave me the info on it didn't want word getting out too much. As a condition of such, I agreed to his terms.

St Laurence Catholic Church - Chicago

The last of my Chicago blog entries. I was very rushed and only had 5 hours to explore.

AWESOME PICS as always
you know it NEVER fails to amaze me at all the unreal workmanship that went inot building these structures when they did NOT have the equipment or the so called skills we have today and then to let them fall this far into disrepair beacuse it cost so much to maintain them its SAD that we have let ourselfs get to this point

Powell Square Demolition

We had a pretty crappy day trying to get into other places outside of STL before coming to our senses and returning to the city of Saint Louis, where we abandon shit properly! Relevant historical info will be added momentarily.

Cool! Nice shots! I wish I could have seen it as a whole though. That's what I get for procrastinating...

Yeah, well honestly I think it was probably more interesting like this. It had all the architectural accoutrements of a parking garage. Still, I think the money would have been better spent creating something new out of the built environment, rather than destroying it.
