Dude you're starting to piss me off. I'm so jelly of the past few locations you've gone to. Awesome finds and pics, of course!

The trip started out as a joke, but unexpectedly turned into reality.Nicotti wrote:A. How come you never take me to abanadoned incomplete nuclear plants? I wanna see that ish.

Yes, but only to the first platform. Even there, ~40 feet up, it was windy and the supports were wobbly. I'm not big on heights.. The ladder the rest of the way up had no guards, so you're free climbing that shit if you want to get to the top. Yeah girls have done it, but I guess my balls are smaller than theirs.
LOL, sorry. It took a lot of time and a fair amount of money but it was worth it if you ask me!BagHead727 wrote:Dude you're starting to piss me off. I'm so jelly of the past few locations you've gone to. Awesome finds and pics, of course!

RE: SubLunar's Blog
Thanks, we actually barely avoided legal troubles at the nuke plant.. We were scheduled to make it there around midday and there was supposed to be a big meetup there already. We got there and it was a ghost town. But there were fresh tire marks around the property which I thought was odd. Get back and check my messages and multiple people from that group warned me not to go, they got busted and were being prosecuted. Good thing I didn't read the messages before going because we didn't have any trouble from midday til it got dark and started raining on us.
So if you do go, park somewhere hidden and stay out of sight because they are prosecuting people out there!

Sub - that plant…. I have no words. AWESOME.
And very glad you avoided getting caught… lucky you!

Re: SubLunar
Like Sub said, the big group that was supposed to be there was missing, but we did run into these kids. They were super loud the whole time. If there was a police patrol, we would have all been screwed... Worth it, though.

Re: SubLunar
It's on a conservation area and a game warden is stationed on site. He uses binoculars to watch the plant from a distance. I got to talk to him and he seems like a pretty cool guy but made it clear that he was sick of trespassers.mindwaave wrote:If there was a police patrol, we would have all been screwed...

Castle Apartments
Although 2013 is tied for my second slowest year of exploring (as far blog posts are concerned) it's been a good one. Started off slow, but by the middle of the year I think I was doing pretty good. Had a super fucking rad time on the road trip in November and explored some awesome places. I wanted to fit more into December, but we ran into some unforeseen difficulties recently at the main event and had to settle with the Castle Apartments as our consolation prize and, as it seems, the location with which I was to finish out the year.
At any rate, here's to a more productive 2014.

How much photo manipulation did you do to those lab shots? Cause it was not that bright in there.
