The Jordan Creek Tunnel is a gigantic drain tunnel that runs a little over half a mile underneath downtown Springfield, Missouri. It's also one of several places where creeks in Springfield, in this case Jordan Creek, go into tunnels and canals. A friend who used to play in the tunnel as a child tipped us off to its existence. He also mentioned that they were doing construction on it and had knocked a huge hole in the side of the tunnel that would be perfect for sneaking in. So, I got my waders and headed to Springfield to see where this thing might lead.
